6 month photo

I just got back from a whirlwind training meeting in chilly New York. Boy was it nice to come home to an 80 degree weekend.

Here is an update to the photos.  The first one is 5 months, and the second one is 6 months.

Nothing really too dramatic, but she's growing in there.  I'm still feeling great.  I'm starting to feel a little uncomfortable, just in terms of some feet swelling and back aches, but for the most part, things have been wonderful! I love feeling her kicks and rolls.  I can spend forever watching my belly bounce with each kick.  She always gets active after I eat and right before I fall asleep.  I already know I'm going to miss feeling her move one day, but then at least I'll have her here with us to cuddle and kiss!

Baby Nursery Part III

Another update.... I know, I don't have anything else to blog about but baby nurseries lately. I'm a little obsessed--can you tell???

Now just another month for the furniture to come in and another 4 months for the baby to get here! :)

Baby Nursery Part II

Remember the before picture, right?

Here is my progress from this weekend:

The process involved some serious taping and levelling, which took forever, but I think it was worth it!

I did all of the taping yesterday. Then, last night I woke up at 2:00 a.m. and couldn't get to sleep again, so I decided to start painting my stripes! Nothing like a 3 am makeover.

I figured out the trick to preventing bleed-through on the stripes. First I painted them with white paint, and then after it dried, I painted over with the pink paint. When some of the paint seeped under the tape, it was white, so it didn't show up. The pink lines look perfectly crisp now! Too bad I didn't figure that out until after the first wall. Now I have to go and touch up the raggedy lines on that wall.

I still need to paint the baseboards and chair railing, but we're almost done!!! Isn't it amazing how the baseboards from before look so white against that navy color, and now they look dingy against the pink?

Happy Valentine's Day!

Rich and I went to The Melting Pot yesterday for an early Valentine's Day date.  It was awesome!  The restaurant menu is built around a fondue theme, so we started the meal with a cheese fondue and bread & veggie dippers.

The next course was a lobster, chicken and steak platter that you cook yourself in a wine broth.

But the best part of the meal is the dessert! We had the flaming turtle chocolate fondue, which had chocolate, caramel & pecans, flambeed tableside. They give you fruit, cake, marshmallows, etc... to dip in the chocolate. We were absolute gluttons and couldn't stop giggling at ourselves by the end of the dinner. Rich wanted to pick up the chocolate fondue pot and drink the few drops that we left, but he decided against it.

They gave us a gift bag for Valentine's Day, which contained their signature garlic and wine seasoning along with a hand massager. It was kind of an odd combination we thought, but hey, it's free right?

Yeah, I'll just keep telling myself that, even though the bill was not what I call cheap! But what a great date night! :)

My little Sadie-Angel

This morning I was sitting in the kitchen, eating my breakfast, when it occurred to me that I was so thankful that Sadie had finally outgrown the craziness.  I thought, Wow, she is just the sweetest little dog now.  I can leave my shoes out, let her roam the house at free will and don't have to even worry about her destroying things.  I thought, where is that little munchkin, so I can give her a kiss and a treat?  So I walked down the hallway and there was my little angel, paws crossed and laying peacefully in the bedroom, playing with a toy.  I squinted my eyes to see what toy she had chosen, when I realized she was gnawing on the end of a battery!  Yeah, I'm fooling myself if I think she's done with Puppyhood!

Baby Nursery Part I

This has been a busy nursery decorating weekend.  We are still in the midst of it, but we made some progress.  The previous owners had a little boy, so the "Before" shot is cute, but kind of masculine for our baby girl:

And here is a Part I photo of some of our progress:

There is still a lot to do, but I will post some more shots next weekend!
